The IT Product Owner (ITPO) – Network plays a key strategic role within the Infrastructure & IT Operations department, leading the evolution of both current and future network infrastructure within the defined technology area. The role is central to shaping long-term network strategies that support Axis’ business objectives and create sustainable competitive advantage. In close collaboration with stakeholders across Axis business, Infrastructure & IT Operations and Information Systems, the ITPO will drive the development of aligned, forward-looking network strategies.

High level description of the role
The ITPO is responsible for translating Axis business needs into clear, actionable, and long-term network strategies. By staying at the forefront of technological innovation, the role identifies opportunities where network technologies can deliver tangible value to Axis’ core business.

The ITPO should be able to break down the strategic plans to tactical plans which could be executed within the organization and drive change within the department and within Axis. The ITPO take lead and coordinate the technical strategies within a Technology Area and lead and drive discussions with Axis stakeholders. In addition, the ITPO has ownership of risk management and mitigation within the network domain, ensuring continuous alignment with security policies, standards, and governance frameworks.

The ITPO should understand dependencies and touch points to other technologies within Axis environment and be able to build end-to-end solutions across Axis technical platforms and infrastructure. Part of the responsibility is to understand the financial structures related to the Tech Area, i.e. cost of ownership and forecast. And to understand and drive legal discussions related to contracts related to the Technology Area.

  • Be able to coordinate and lead fellow engineers when it comes to Incidents, design of solution based on Business requirements.

  • Create an overview and coherent technical picture of initiatives, PoC & projects within the Network Technology Area, the department, and Axis.

Technology based skills & knowledge:

  • Ensuring that Axis has the competitive advantage of technology within the Network technology area.
  • Ensure the Network development is in line with development in other Technology Areas.
  • Deep understanding of the business impact of the Network technology area.

Process based skills & knowledge:

  • Incorporate and understand Axis business to be able to lead technical development within the Network Technology Area.
  • Create, drive, and present an overall Strategy and Roadmap for the Network Technology Area.
  • Take part of decision-making regarding forecast, prioritize and technical development.
  • Be the representative of the Network Technology Area in strategic forums within Axis and with suppliers and vendors.

  • A pedagogical and structured approach to explaining complex technical concepts, both verbally and in writing.
  • A strong conceptual and strategic understanding of IT infrastructure and networking technologies.
  • Experience contributing to or leading development, transformation, or improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Swedish language skills are not mandatory, but considered a strong advantage.
